Executive Director & CEO

As the Executive Director and CEO of Nevada Ballet Theatre, Beth Barbre is responsible for all activities of the 40-year old organization, including its professional dance company, education outreach programs and the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre. Beth is currently working to facilitate the company's transition to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, where it will be one of two resident performing arts groups.
Before joining Nevada Ballet Theatre, Beth served seven years as Managing Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre (OBT). During her tenure, she was responsible for putting the company on sound financial footing by implementing a comprehensive marketing, fundraising and financial management program.
In 2000, Beth led the effort to locate, purchase and design OBT's first permanent home, which includes state-of-the art dance studios and offices on a full city block in Portland. She also led the campaign to raise nearly $1 million toward completion of OBT'S Phase II building campaign.
Prior to joining OBT, Beth spent five years as Administrator of the George Balanchine Trust in New York City, licensing the works of the 20th Century's greatest choreographer and educating audiences worldwide about his legacy. She also served five years as Company Manager of the New York City Ballet, America's pre-eminent dance company.
A graduate of the University of the South at Sewanee, TN, Beth earned a Masters Degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University.
Beth is currently working to facilitate the company's transition to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, where it will be one of two resident performing arts groups.
